I’m hoping this place is good but so far my experience has not been that great. Sent an email for a quote on... replacement Windows based on what I was told to when I called. Called back after 4 days to find out that the gentleman I sent it to had just read my email and had more questions.He asked me if I had got other quotes and I told him Alside was the other company that I had a pricing from and since it was an all Vinyl product I wanted to find out about the Fiberglass Windows from Marvin.Once he heard that he doubted my ability to afford the fiberglass windows and it almost sounded like he was no longer interested in even working on a quote for me!! I had to finally repeat that I clearly said I decided to go for Fiberglass windows from Marvin and hence would appreciate getting a quote for them.Then He said oh ok I can give you the quote for the cheapest fiberglass window but let me tell you upfront that we are very very busy and won’t be able to come out to measure this week and even if you decide to go with us after all that, the orders are backed up by 10 to 16 weeks etc etc.I’m not sure if this person is judging my ability to afford based on accents and chooses to not service some people because he had some bad experience before or is it something else. Hoping to get the quote and then see how this progresses.A sales person should do what he is hired for and this guy seems to almost be doing the opposite by judging and discouraging a potential buyer even before giving a quote that is requested in an email.read more

For any serious homeowner project, if you want quality materials at competitive prices with knowledgeable and... professional service, do yourself a favor: skip the big-box stores and go to Huston Lumber.We got all the lumber, doors and windows for our addition and new garage from Huston Lumber. There was never a problem with the materials or delivery and it's easy to see why our contractor has been using them for years. Later, when I was finishing my deck, I went to Huston Lumber and George, the branch manager helped me out with the material list and getting a quote for Intex railing. I also received great service from Patti and Bruce. The staff at this branch is simply awesome and they really make an extra effort to make sure you'll get your materials timely when you need them. They also have a showroom which is great for seeing trim, windows, railing, hardware etc. and the selection goes much beyond what's available at Home Depot or Lowes. Highly recommended.read more

Large selection of materials. I bought a sheet of furniture-grade plywood, cross-cut to size. I can live with the fact... that several pieces were cut crooked (1/2” deviation down the length of the 4’ cut), but was annoyed that the associate cut the sheet facing side up, shredding 1/2” of the birch veneer along each side of each cut. I alerted the sales desk, and they said they’d let the folks cutting know.read more

Excellent customer service (spoke to Chris), had no problem correcting errors in quantities I had given them. Got back... to me with quotes on lumber very quickly. Also pays close attention to detail, helped me catch an error in lumber specifications. Suitable for both professionals and amateurs.read more
